چکیده

Abstract We present space-based thermal infrared observations of the presumably Geminid-associated asteroids: (3200) Phaethon, 2005 UD, and 1999 YC using Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer/Near-Earth Object WISE. The images were taken at four wavelength bands 3.4 ? m (W1), 4.6 (W2), 12 (W3), 22 (W4). find no evidence lasting mass loss in asteroids over decadal multiepoch data sets. set an upper limit to mass-loss rate dust Q ? 2 kg s ?1 for Phaethon ?0.1 both UD YC, respectively, with little dependency observed heliocentric distances R h = 1.0–2.3 au. For even if maximum was sustained 1000(s) yr dynamical age Geminid stream, it is more than two orders magnitude too small supply reported stream (10 13–14 kg). DESTINY + analyzer would be capable detecting several sized interplanetary particles when far (?50,000 km) from Phaethon. Search for Activity in 3200 Phaethon

We present deep optical imaging of Geminid meteor stream parent 3200 Phaethon taken in search of low-level cometary activity (i.e., coma or dust trail). Although no unambiguous cometary behavior was observed, we find an upper limit on the object’s cometary mass-loss rate of Ṁlim 0:01 kg s . The corresponding active fraction (the fraction of the surface area that could consist of freely sublimat...

Recurrent Perihelion Activity in (3200) Phaethon

We present a study of planet-crossing asteroid (3200) Phaethon at three successive perihelia in 2009, 2010, and 2012, using the NASA STEREO spacecraft. Phaethon is clearly detected in 2009 and 2012, but not in 2010. In both former years, Phaethon brightened unexpectedly by ∼1 mag at large phase angles, inconsistent with the ∼1 mag of steady fading expected from a discrete, macroscopic body over...

the evaluation of language related engagment and task related engagment with the purpose of investigating the effect of metatalk and task typology

abstract while task-based instruction is considered as the most effective way to learn a language in the related literature, it is oversimplified on various grounds. different variables may affect how students are engaged with not only the language but also with the task itself. the present study was conducted to investigate language and task related engagement on the basis of the task typolog...

An upper limit on gas production from 3200 Phaethon

Asteroid 3200 Phaethon resembles a comet in some ways, including a highly-eccentric orbit (e∼ 0.89) and a strong associated meteor shower (the Geminids). Yet this object has never been observed to exhibit any cometary activity, i.e., gas production. We observed 3200 Phaethon with the Caltech Submillimeter Observatory on two occasions, once while it was near its closest approach to Earth as it n...

Influenza-related mortality in Spain, 1999-2005.

OBJECTIVE To estimate the excess deaths attributed to influenza in Spain, using age-specific generalized linear models (GLM) and the Serfling model for the period 1999-2005. METHOD We reviewed mortality from influenza and pneumonia and all-cause deaths. We used an additive GLM procedure, including the numbers of weekly deaths as a response variable and the number of influenza virus and respir...
